Intellectual Property Use Guidelines

Overview

Paradigm, Inc. (“Paradigm”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), including its current and former brands, products, and divisions (including, without limitation, CeCredential Trust), owns and protects a broad range of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and proprietary technologies.

These Intellectual Property Use Guidelines are intended to:

  • Provide notice of our intellectual property rights
  • Define permitted and prohibited uses
  • Protect the integrity, security, and value of our technology and brand

Except as expressly permitted in writing, no rights or licenses are granted to any party under any intellectual property rights of Paradigm, Inc. or its affiliates.

These Guidelines supplement, and do not replace, any applicable agreements between you and Paradigm, Inc.

 

Ownership of Intellectual Property

All technology, software, systems, methods, processes, user interfaces, designs, text, graphics, data, and other materials made available by Paradigm, Inc. (collectively, the “Platform Materials”) are owned by or licensed to Paradigm, Inc. and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws, including patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws.

This includes, without limitation:

  • Digital credentialing systems and validation services
  • Authentication, verification, and fraud prevention methodologies
  • Software, APIs, and system architecture
  • Workflows, business processes, and data structures
  • Website content, documentation, and visual interfaces
  • Domain names, URLs, and digital identifiers associated with Paradigm, Inc.

Certain aspects of our Platform Materials constitute proprietary trade secrets. Unauthorized access, use, reproduction, or disclosure is strictly prohibited.

To the extent any feedback, suggestions, or enhancements are provided by you, you agree that Paradigm, Inc. shall have a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use and incorporate such feedback without restriction.

All enhancements, modifications, derivative works, and improvements to the Platform Materials shall be owned exclusively by Paradigm, Inc.

For purposes of these Guidelines, “Platform” means the Website and all associated platforms, systems, applications, APIs, software, and services provided by Paradigm, Inc.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Paradigm, Inc.

Except as expressly granted, no rights or licenses are granted under any intellectual property rights of Paradigm, Inc., whether by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.

 

Patents

Virtual Patent Marking Notice

The following products are protected by patents in the United States and may be protected by additional patents in the United States and other jurisdictions.

This website is provided to satisfy the virtual patent marking provisions of the America Invents Act and to provide notice in accordance with 35 U.S.C. § 287(a).

The list below may not be all-inclusive. Certain products listed may be covered by additional patents not listed here, and other products not listed may be protected by one or more patents. Patent applications may be pending in the United States and internationally.

Trademarks

Paradigm, Inc. owns various registered and unregistered trademarks, service marks, and logos (collectively, the “Marks”).

Use of the Marks is permitted only in accordance with these guidelines and any applicable written agreement with Paradigm, Inc.

Acceptance of Guidelines

By using any of the Marks, you agree to comply with these Trademark Use Guidelines. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Marks.


Registered Trademarks

The following are registered trademarks of Paradigm, Inc. in the United States and/or other jurisdictions:

  • CeDiploma®
  • CeCertificate®
  • CeDiD®
  • CeCredential Trust®
  • CeDiploma Trust®
  • ScholarRecord®
  • Paradigm Checkmark Design (logo)


Unregistered Trademarks

The following are trademarks of Paradigm, Inc.:

  • CredentialConnections™
  • CeD™
  • CeC™
  • Insignia™
  • SecureTouch™
  • DirectShip™
  • MyReOrder™
  • MyHold™

As well as any other marks used by Paradigm, Inc. from time to time in connection with its business.


Permitted Use

You may use the Marks solely to:

  • Refer to Paradigm, Inc. products or services
  • Promote such products or services solely where authorized pursuant to a written agreement or express permission from Paradigm, Inc.

All use must be accurate and must not create any false impression of affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship.


Usage Requirements

You must:

  • Use the Marks only in accordance with our brand guidelines
  • Maintain proper spelling, capitalization, and formatting
  • Use the ® symbol for registered trademarks (e.g., CeDiploma®)
  • Use the ™ symbol for unregistered trademarks (e.g., CeD™)
  • Use the symbol at least once per page or document where the Mark appears
  • Use the Marks as adjectives followed by a generic noun

Example:

  • Proper: “CeDiploma® digital credential”
  • Improper: “CeDiplomas®”


Restrictions on Use

You may not:

  • Use the Marks without authorization
  • Use confusingly similar names, marks, or domains
  • Combine the Marks with your own branding without written consent
  • Register or attempt to register the Marks or similar marks
  • Use the Marks in a way that implies endorsement or partnership where none exists
  • Use the Marks for decorative or non-referential purposes
  • License or sublicense the Marks to any third party

The Marks must not appear more prominently than your own branding in any materials.


Protection of Rights

You may not take any action that:

  • Weakens the validity or distinctiveness of the Marks
  • Damages the goodwill associated with the Marks
  • Challenges Paradigm, Inc.’s ownership of the Marks

You agree to promptly notify Paradigm, Inc. of any unauthorized use of the Marks and to cooperate in enforcement efforts.

Paradigm, Inc. is not obligated to monitor use of its intellectual property but reserves all rights to enforce its rights at its sole discretion.

All use of the Marks inures solely to the benefit of Paradigm, Inc.


Attribution

You must include appropriate trademark attribution where applicable. For example:

CeCredential Trust®, CeDiploma®, CeCertificate®, and CeDiD® are registered trademarks of Paradigm, Inc.

DirectShip™ and SecureTouch™ are trademarks of Paradigm, Inc.


Reservation of Rights

Paradigm, Inc. reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to:

  • Determine whether your use complies with these guidelines
  • Require modification or discontinuation of any use
  • Revoke permission to use the Marks at any time
  • Update or modify these guidelines without notice

Prohibited Uses of Platform Materials

Except as expressly authorized in writing, you may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute Platform Materials
  • Modify or create derivative works
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any systems or software
  • Attempt to extract source code or underlying algorithms
  • Access or use the Platform to build competing products or services
  • Scrape, harvest, or extract data
  • Circumvent or interfere with security or validation mechanisms

·       Access or attempt to access any portion of the Platform that you are not authorized to access

·       Use automated means, including bots, scripts, or crawlers, to access or interact with the Platform

 

Trade Secrets

Certain elements of Paradigm, Inc.’s technology, including credential validation methods, system architecture, workflows, and security processes, constitute proprietary trade secrets.

You may not circumvent, bypass, or undermine any security, protection, or technological measures used to safeguard such trade secrets.

You shall not use any information obtained from or derived from the Platform to develop similar or competing technology, whether directly or indirectly.

Unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of such information is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

Enforcement
You acknowledge that any breach of these Intellectual Property Use Guidelines may cause irreparable harm for which monetary damages would be insufficient, and Paradigm, Inc. shall be entitled to seek immediate injunctive or equitable relief in addition to any other remedies available at law or in equity.

Certain content may be owned by third parties and is used under license to Paradigm, Inc. Nothing herein grants rights to such third-party materials.
